Having joined the practice from the acquisition of Broughton house surgery, I can honestly say the service is much much poorer. Prior to the move we had no problem getting appointments but now it takes 4 weeks typically to get an appointment with your doctor.
You just get told well there are 20,000 patients!! Why so many compared to the Broughton house practice doctor to patient ratio.
It is like being at a hospital all very anonymous.
The receptionists act like a triage process. You have unqualified medical people saying who should and shouldn't get appointments. This will lead to someone becoming seriously ill or worse.
I'd like to see them sort out the appointments system to have more on the day appointments so you can get appointments with your GP like at Broughton house. Make it a bit more personal. Why have "mini hospitals" as GP's.
I've found the Receptionists here friendly and helpful compared to the Rottweilers at my previous surgery. As with all practices these days, it's hard to get an appointment with the doctor of your choice at a time that suits but once an appointment is made, I've had nothing but good care and have no complaints about the doctors I've seen so far namely Dr. Johnson and Dr. Sutton. I'm new to the practice so hopefully this good impression/service will continue.
Great surgery. Dr Johnson is a fantastic family GMP. Very caring and considerate.
I have recently had the misfortune of feeling unwell and concerned about my health .I have found getting appointments hard and, seeing the same DR for consistency impossible.
I have read, other reviews and in the main a lot of others are experiencing the same difficulties, which. Whilst was reassuring t h at it was not just me feeling frustrated and worried ,it is of concern that so many patients are giving similar reviews.
The surgery and practicioners have become lack lustre - this has got to change or else the health of patients will be compromised.
I feel this is a shame as until the last few months I have been more than satisfied with the surgery ,however now I am feeling more than dissatisfied
When someone is feeling unwell they need to be given time to talk, a structure that provides consistency of care and at the very least a better system in which to.get appointments in a time frame that is in the patients best interests.
I am a firm believer in prevention is better than cure and if patients were seen earlier then ailments may heal quicker and not lead to further ailments whereas if left untreated while waiting for a Dr appointment or to get through on the phone their ailments may worsen.
I requested to see a particular GP who had previously treated my condition. I was informed that the next available appointment was five weeks away. When I agreed to see any doctor, I was told that it was a two week wait for a booked appointment.
